On his way to the capital of Rumonge province, the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly made a stopover at Sunstone Hotel located in the locality of Kagongo in the Kizuka zone, Rumonge commune on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
Located on the coast of Lake Tanganyika, this high standard hotel attracts tourists, as witnessed by the Europeans who were there. These tourists bring in foreign currency which inflates the tax base, the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly told the press.

Honorable Sabine Ntakarutimana also contemplated the already advanced level of construction of the provincial office of Rumonge before visiting the Gatakwa marshland, more precisely on Nyakuguma hill in Kigwena zone of Rumonge commune where the Government granted a land to the population grouped in a cooperative society. Previously, the population was recalcitrant to the policy of block farming. But now that the maize field, which covers an area of 28 ha, is flourishing, this same population remains convinced that the Government is operating in the interest of the population.

The thermal waters of Mugara in Gatete zone also interested the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. The touristic potentialities are offered to these thermal waters which are reputed for their medicinal virtues. Nevertheless, as a doctor, the Honorable Sabine Ntakarutimana cannot confirm or deny these assertions.

On Thursday, November 04, 2021, the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly participated in the extension of the Amahoro Birimba Hospital of the Anglican Church, Rumonge Diocese. Honorable Sabine Ntakarutimana also visited ABUBEF, Rumonge branch.

In province Muyinga, the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly visited on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, the Health Center Ami des Jeunes de Kamaramagambo in Butihinda commune before participating in community development works at the Health Center of Zaga, in Buvumbi zone, Butihinda commune. The aim was to approach the stones at the Health Center under construction.

On Thursday, November 11, 2021, Honorable Sabine Ntakarutimana joined the population of Butirabura locality in Bwasare zone of Gasorwe commune in the construction of a school made of sustainable materials. The day’s activities consisted of transporting concrete for the upper chaining. While visiting Rusimbuko the health center in Gasorwe commune, the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly was shocked to find a doctor who does not have an office, which has an impact on the quality of his services. While the cost of a medical consultation is 3,500 Fbu in public health structures, the local doctor consults for 500 Fbu, just like a nurse.

The activities of the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly on Friday November 12, 2021, were devoted to the inauguration of four offices of villages’ chiefs in two zones of Gasorwe commune namely Bwasare, Nyungu, Gasaru and Ngogoma hills.

Wherever Hon. Sabine Ntakarutimana went, she came to the rescue of needy people by granting each one of them an aid consisting of 18 metal sheets. This gesture of solidarity is in line with the responsible and industrious Government which invites everyone to help each other. The spirit of solidarity, which is anchored in the customs and habits of Burundians, should not materialize only on the day dedicated to it, recalled the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly who delivered the same message. She congratulated the hill chiefs for having inherited the offices.

She then demonstrated the importance of village leader’s office which will now be at ease while listening to the population. She also praised the people who have put their heart and soul into building these offices. It should be noted that these hill offices also house a room reserved for the Sangwe cooperative society.
