The development of the commune cannot be a reality without the contribution of everyone.
For the ninth consecutive time that the communal festival in Burundi is celebrated, this festival which is an occasion by which the natives of the commune analyze and discuss together how to continue to develop their locality, celebrated every year on the 1st Saturday of August, was established by Law No. 100/203 of August 31, 2013 on the institution of the communal festival.
In this context, the 2nd Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Abel Gashatsi joined the natives of his constituency of Muramvya at the chief town of Mbuye where the related ceremonies took place.
The administrator of the commune of Mbuye first presented the completed projects, those in progress and those expected before the chairman of the commune council of Mbuye proceeded to the presentation of certificates of appreciation to some natives who have shown their willingness to participate actively in the development activities of this commune in a distinguished manner.
Thus, certificates of appreciation were given to some natives of the commune of Mbuye in the province of Muramvya, including the Honorable Abel Gashatsi, in recognition of their dynamism and their eminent contribution to the development of their native commune.
In his speech, the second vice speaker of the National Assembly reminded his audience of the role of a citizen in his native commune in terms of development, namely to be aware of the life of his commune, to evaluate together the achievements and to plan development projects. The determination of the role of each one for a good implementation of these projects was also on the menu of his speech, that is why he wished that these certificates of honor awarded are a way to invite all the natives of the commune of Mbuye to get more involved in the activities of community development. Peace and security are the pillars of development, said the Honorable Abel Gashatsi, who invited the population of Mbuye to a good cohabitation, respect and close collaboration with the local administration especially in the implementation of development projects in the commune of Mbuye.
The ceremonies of the communal festival of the commune of Mbuye ended with the sharing of a traditionally prepared meal.
