The First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Honorable Sabine Ntakarutimana, joined the people of Muhuta commune in Rumonge province on Saturday, May 20, 2023, during community development work to rehabilitate and clean up the roads of Gasange village in the Gitaza area.
Hon. Sabine Ntakarutimana took the opportunity to invite the people of Rumonge province to continue to safeguard peace and security while remaining vigilant, given the prevailing security situation in the neighboring province of Bururi, where as yet unidentified criminals are attacking the population with machetes. She also urged her audience to engage in income-generating activities.
She went on reiterating that where there are no roads, schools or health centers, the population does not feel at ease. And she invited everyone to listen carefully to the administrative authorities from the bottom up when they mobilize people to take part in public development activities. This meets with the wish of His Excellency the President of the Republic "that every mouth may have food and every wallet money".
In concluding, the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly reminded the population to take seriously the practice of vegetable gardening around their homes during the dry season. In her view, raising small animals would also be an asset and would replace the purchase of vegetables and meat for families in need.
