Under the theme "It’s difficult but possible", which was debated on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at the Eglise du Rocher S.S.I, where the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Right Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe, took part in the Sunday service, Pastor Isaac Mbonimpa, the preacher of the day, demonstrated that life on earth is becoming more and more complicated and difficult to live, but that with God, we can overcome all the problems and continue our life on this earth. He used Bible verses from Romans 12:9-19 and Luke 18:18-24 to clarify and share his thoughts. He urged Christians to cling to He who gives all kinds of goods, a more rewarding spiritual practice than clinging to material goods, since God is the master and giver of everything.
He continued his teaching by mentioning seven (7) traits that should characterize a true Christian, including:
1. Charity without hypocrisy;
2. Brotherly love full of affection;
3. Patience in affliction;
4. Prayer;
5. Mutual help;
6. Living in harmony with others and,
7. Forgiveness.
The Speaker of the National Assembly based his comments on the teachings of Pastor Mbonimpa. "What must we do to inherit eternal life? - asked the Speaker of the National Assembly, before pointing out that good deeds should accompany words in order to put these biblical teachings into practice. "Everything we read from the Bible is theory, so practice should be a tool for making things concrete and a good model," hammered the Right Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe. Commenting on the verse taken from Luke 18: 18-24, the Right Honorable Ndabirabe found that it is difficult for a Christian to give all his wealth to the needy in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
The Right Honorable Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe also appreciated sacred songs with words that appease the heart, and wished that God would reveal more divine inspiration to the choir members to help them shape their beautiful melodies. He then encouraged them to continue the noble mission entrusted to them. He also invited everyone to leave their possessions for God.
To conclude, the Right Honorable Ndabirabe invited the Christians to be kind, to love their neighbors, not to be wise in their own eyes, to fight against the spirit of egocentrism, and wished the whole congregation a happy ending.
